re: Legally Blonde or Les Miserables?
 Aug 7 2007, 09:00:40 PM
I appriciate all the opinions! I think I'm going to take DramaLady's suggestion and get tickets for LB ahead of time and try TKTS or rush for Les Mis. Each show has different things going for it; Legally Blonde would be with (mostly?) the original cast, and Les Mis is...well, Les Mis. A must see for any theater fan. Thanks again!
Legally Blonde or Les Miserables?

I am stuck with the choice of whether to see Legally Blonde or Les Miserables this September. I already have tickets for A Chorus Line and Spelling Bee and would like to have your opinions on which show to see. I was planning on seeing Grey Gardens or Company, but those are not possible anymore. Thanks for the input!
For the record, my favorite show I've seen was The Drowsy Chaperone. I've seen Chicago, TDC, POTO, Wicked, Rent, DRS on tour, Aida on tour, and The Producers on tour.

Aida , then Mary Poppins (the English version, not the American version).

n69n, your avatar is pretty much the best thing ever. Where is it from? I know there's a Company picture in the same style; is there one of Sweeney like that?

That was great! Thanks so much. I'm guessing the 'skeletons' are that she's not a virgin (which is what I gathered from 'Daddy's Girl)?
Grey Gardens Synopsis

I've searched Google and haven't come up with a plot line for the musical. There have been some one paragraph summaries of the documentary (which I will be checking out as soon as it is returned to my local library) but none for the musical. Any help (user-typed summaries or just pointing me in the direction of one) would be greatly appriciated. And I know there's been a topic on this, but it wasn't much help. Thanks!

The souvenir programs of the tour cast are sold at the merchandise booths.

A line from my favorite musical of all time, Sweeney Todd.

I saw this tour and was impressed by the 3 leads, especially Radames and Aida. I think I was only impressed by Amneris because she was so good compared to the rest of the show. I couldn't stand the new costumes and props and sets. I've seen the OBC on a bootleg video and the sets were breathtaking! This set is 6 blocks, pretty much. Zoser was the worst preformance I have ever seen. Like you said, Mereb's voice was OK, but his acting was terrible. I was expecting the Broadway show and was disappo

I was going to say "I'd sooner buy defying gravity."

And the punch line is Boq and Nessa, not Fiyero and Galinda, by the way.

ETA: The line in 'Christmas Makes Me Cry' from BKLYN:
"Santa Claus is just a man wearing funny clothes..."

Sutton Foster as Janet in TDC during 'Show Off.' Note the Sutton eyebrow.
BTW: She's getting the flowers, not giving.

Patrick Wilson is in the Gap ad with "Anything You Can Do" playing in the background.

Edit: Taye Diggs is in an Aquafina ad with a woman walking down the street and various men stop and notice her.

Hilarious Comments...

Not really relevent, but I was featured on that site on the Wicked Day page. I'm the person in the first picture (Galinda's Shiz Costume). It was very windy that day, hence the hair in my face.
