RENT DVD at circuit city Feb 24

Take it from someone who at one time worked at CC in that department...despite the advertising, only certain stores WILL get the merchandise..and half are taken by employees even before the merchandise is up for display. Each store gets an average of 20 and that is it. Enjoy the DVD!

It's clips from the video on the making of Chitty with the original West End Cast. It really is an insightful look at all that went into putting it on stage there. Good luck getting the preview to work!

If Wayne could still sing - I know that there are many who said that he never could. Newton messed up his voice some years back when he started doing gigs in Branson. Most of his shows now are taped from years back. On the songs that he does sing, the strain is painfully audible. What I'm hearing on the rumor mill is that there will be 2 seperate casts for the matinee and the evening performances, and that at least in the evening cast, they are looking for someone who has already played the

re: Who do you prefer Sarah Brightman or Emmy Rossum singing the songs from Sep 9

It's Sarah all the way - maybe I think that the original is always the best, plus having the material written for Sarah is a plus in her favor. The best "wedding present" she could have gotten .I've heard others sing this score - some better than others, but I don't think anyone matches Sarah.

There was talk on some of the boards of Michael Ball doing the role after his success in Cork. Granted he's not a box office draw for some - but since it's McGregor, I'm not too unhappy.

Tim Martin Gleason (Raoul) is set to leave the 22nd of this month, and so is Rebecca Pitcher, although I'm not sure of the date for her departure. Tim is slotted to be the new Raoul on Broadway, and I believe Rebecca is leaving to finalize her wedding plans.

Frankly, these are the best I've seen of the man in years.

I think if he's allowed to branch out and mature, he'd make a great Raoul or Marius . . he's got the voice but needs to get the acting skills.

re: Michael Ball as The Phantom of The Opera? Mar 12

I don't think weight is a problem for him now....and in the past when he has been a bit overweight, he's lost it rather quickly. It would seem to me that the physicality of the role would have anyone drop weight just in rehersals.

I love that sinister laugh...he's got something on his mind..and I don't think it's SINGING to Christine...I've never heard anyone else have that sexual quality during that song.

re: Count Fosco in the USA - Suggestions for Crawford's role ? Mar 4
2005, 02:13:21 PM
Perhaps a few do, but the majority of fans are responsible, great people...and very few of the ones I know have blue hair. I certainly don't. And I don't believe any wish anything but the best for Mr. Crawford - he's a wonderfully gifted and talented man. The last thing I would hate to see happen is a battle of Michael's. They are both respected, talented professionals very capabale of handling the decisions in their lives.

More than anything, this is the role I would love to see him play. He's at the right age - his voice has never been better and from the songs he sang while in Salt Lake last year, his take on the role would I think, not only be different but quite amazing.

I think this role, or any role that would get Michael Ball back to Broadway is a wonderful idea. He's made such a mark with the role he is in currently, that it seemes to me he is the obvious choice. Nothing against Michael Crawford, he's played the States for so long that he does have name recognition, albet some of it bad since the mess with DOTV . . would he want to go back to the same theater that was the site of that mess? I don't know, but I'd love to see Michael Ball give it a shot.

At his birthday celebration..in I think, 1999, Webber talked about a sequel to Phantom and introduced the song. It is lovely and at one time, it was supposed to have been considered being used in the film

Best of luck to Michael Ball and hopes for a speedy recovery for Michael Crawford. Interesting casting or is this re-casting? Whichever . . .it sure sounds like it's going to be a blast!

I like it...to me there is an edgy tone to it that comes from someone who maybe struggled to get to the top. Others have sung it beautifully, but the edge isn't there....

I for one would love to see the man return, just to show that he's still got the right stuff. So many have never seen him perform, and in the right musical, he could knock Broadway on its pins. Someone mentioned Phantom, and after seeing him just do bits of it on stage...that would be a dream come true for me. Vegas Lady
