I will paint her is so passionate, melodic and captures perfectly that mood of excitement and infatuation. The running through the notes during the word ‘paint’ is not something I remember hearing before. It’s amazing!"

I agree! I really like the score throughout. I th

I imagine they'll use one that hasn't been heard in the trailers, so people will still be surprised by the ending.

Full credit for this thought goes to the Sentimental Men podcast (highly recommend) but they suggest that the finale of DG is expanded so there is a version of the war cry when she rises (after “It’s me”) in addition to the true end of the song. I could

Anything to have her as Mrs Lovett. (Wished they had extended the latest revival once one with her even through the summer).

I’m so very excited to see her in Old Friends

Like they didn't change really anything about the story, just the context. It's okay to just say you didn't like the original concept.

I think it works cuz they were just like we are mostly ignoring the show and doing it the way we think is cool.

I just got out of the show. As many have said I was never a Cats person but something about this just works. I think it works cuz they were just like we are mostly ignoring the show and doing it the way we think is cool. It’s a great time, with some surprisingly powerful moments.

Pocahontas needs to be a broadway musical!

I agree the score is excellent. I do see a world where a stage musical could be great with the right team. However I don’t see it ever happening. I think you have to accept that it is a fictional love story not historic and audiences wouldn’t do that now

Why hasn't The Wizard of Oz appeared more on Broadway?

I did not see the RSC production, the Wizard of Oz is perhaps my favorite movie. That said the way the movie is written works better on film then onstage, especially for a modern audience. The songs are all great but aside from Over the Rainbow could sorta be estab

7 or 8 o’clock curtain?
 Jul 2 2024, 07:09:33 AM

7 means I still get home early enough that it doesn’t throw of my sleep schedule (in Jersey). I also think the poster who points out how the 7 o clock curtain is better for theatre workers makes a BRILLIANT point. This goes into the industry question of creating a semblance of work life balance. I work in theater-not on broadway-but just convincing places not to end tech days at (or after) midnight when people have early calls for crew work the next day is a struggle.

I would say Ivo’s Rumble was more like you were watching a real fight  (to my memory I only saw it once). Danya’s is very stylized and dancelik

I do think it’s silly that Lempicka closed so quickly and W4E and HK got a bunch of Tony noms but alas.

I thought the group numbers came off FAR better than the power ballads, which just contain a myriad of lyrics that range from cringe to not making much sense for the character at all. The ensemble numbers at least are fun and I'm not paying all that much attention to what the lyrics are doing, so it hides any deficiencies they might have. Maybe I'd like the power ballads more if they had better lyrics, but they ju

This may be just a first listen reaction but I think I dislike many of the Papermill changes to the power ballads I already liked. It’s the ensemble numbers I already didn’t like that I still don’t like.

Did they keep spreading the word? I'm thinking-- no. So- stop whining I beg of you"<
