My friend was at the Hand to God performance with the cell phone charging incident and said it was suuuuuuper awkward. I can't even imagine. Though she said the ushers tried to kick the person out, which I think is too far. Maybe that's just me, but they bought a ticket for who knows how much money, and while its incredibly rude, some people honestly just don't know any better.

Wait, we are brain twins. One of the last jokes of my Into the Woods recap is "here's to not having to pretend the Les Mis movie was remotely acceptable anymore...Not that I ever did." Great minds think alike!

Yeah the Vincentelli article was embarrassing, in my opinion. The movie was as intelligent as we could have hoped for.

I CANNOT wait to see this version! Especially after seeing and loving the movie I'd love to see it live again, stripped down, and get to hear the full score again. It sounds awesome!

I think its open to interpretation...on first thought I thought it was referring to death, but it could be referring to living with your children and your wives...............UGH I could think about the possibilities of each lyric for everrrrrrr.

They definitely committed to keeping a lot of the nuances of the stage version, so I'd say the movie is definitely for adults while still being appropriate for children. It will be interesting to see what the legacy of the movie becomes as time goes on, if its thought of as a family/children's movie or not...

Now that I've seen the movie, the casting fit really well in my opinion! I thought there were solid performances given all around. Definitely some "film singing" but everyone sounded great!

It definitely was not THE worst movie musical, but it is far from the best. I'm still sticking with the Rob Marshall made for TV version feat. Victor Garber and Audra McDonald AND Kathy Bates AND Kristen Chenoweth AND Alan Cumming!
