Fun Home and It Should've Been You Sheet Music Aug 5
2015, 07:42:49 PM
I'll keep an eye out for the release of Fun Home, at least.
And yes, AEA I'm at a Drama Conservatoire in the UK, and although my musicality skills don't extend to ones that would allow me to transcribe songs I certainly have a few contacts that I hadn't thought about using, so I will send the idea their way.
Thanks for the suggestion, L.

Fun Home and It Should've Been You Sheet Music Aug 4
2015, 04:54:49 PM
Just a question regarding the sheet music for Fun Home and It Should've Been You - wondering if they will be released officially? I think remember reading an article about the Fun Home Vocal Selections being released, but wondered if anyone knows exactly when, and if anyone knows about It Should've Been You?
In particular I'm looking for "Days and Days" and "Jenny's Blues" - if not officially I'm wondering if anyone knows of any "unofficial" way of finding the scores?

Aaron Tveit to star in Assassins as John Wilkes Booth Oct 3
2014, 10:14:56 PM
My initial thought was that he was too young for the role, what with older actors such as Garber and Cerveris preceding him, however I read (after thinking this) than Booth was only 26 when he committed suicide. More fool me! I'm excited about this production; have tickets booked for two trips as it's my favourite Sondheim. However I do find this casting a little unusual. I'm more excited about Mike McShane as Sam Byck. And yesThirtyThirtyNinety, she's playing Sara Jane Moore.

If you could Supervise a Revisal... Sep 1
2014, 04:52:07 AM
If/Then needs serious work. The book just isn't good enough, and some of those lyrics are just plain awful. I don't think it knew what it wanted to be and was very contrived. Beautiful score, a handful of moments during which it was a brilliant show, but several totally misguided and often cringy moments. For me anyway. I don't know how they could fix it, but they worked a lot on Next to Normal for many years before it got to Broadway, and Next to Normal remains one of the best musicals I have e

Revival Cast Recordings This Year. May 5
2014, 08:15:10 PM
So Violet is getting a recording, and on the brink of that I just wondered what everybody else hopes for/think will or will not get recorded this year out of this years revivals? I imagine that Cabaret certainly won't be recorded, but does anybody think Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Les Mis will get recorded? I think a Hedwig recording would go down very well, as the OOBC is not seen so much what with the movie soundtrack and all, so I would love to see a recording for this ne

Cabaret Reviews Apr 24

I don't get why a lot of these critics are slamming it for being exactly the same as it was in 1998. I understand, why didn't they re-approach the same production, but why when it was so impeccably received in it's original run? There isn't necesarrily a need to do so, and it's not like Roundabout were making any promise that this would be the case. They're bringing back one of their most critically acclaimed productions; and I think that's a perfectly fine thing to do. I get that it may attrac

Really quick Richard Rodgers Theatre question... Apr 22
2014, 07:25:33 PM
Hi there Broadway board! Hope you can give us a hand. I'm booking for If/Then for my New York trip in July - We can only afford Rear Mezz and I was wondering if anybody would say which is better - central further back (Row D) or Row A but to the right? We don't mind paying a little more if it's a better view for the more central tickets. I sat in Rear Mezz for In the Heights back in 2011 and was off to the side, but I was pretty far back so can't really compare to these sea

Kyle Dean Massey and Ciara Renee to join PIPPIN Feb 28
2014, 07:53:02 PM
I've booked for when I'm in New York in July - I saw KDM in NTN and was very impressed, so this is good news to me. I think he will be fine age-wise. He suits the role well, just hope he can move well enough, as I'm aware of how physically demanding this new production is. Never heard of Ciara Renee either, and I think I'm gonna refrain from hearing clips of her singing before July. I was half expecting them bring Vereen back to the role as a stunt move. He probably can't do it anymore

Pippin seating question. Feb 23
2014, 10:35:13 PM
Quick note - I've just manged to find the old telecharge website, which allows for a much more specific seating choice - does anybody know what the further back, much cheaper, tickets in Mezzanine are like? I'm looking at Row J fo $59 a ticket. I haven't been to the Music Box before, hence all the questions!

Thanks loliveve - didn't realise that was an option! Looks like I'll go for Mezzanine front row if everyone thinks that's the best option. Thanks for your time everyone! X

Pippin seating question. Feb 23
2014, 09:53:51 PM
Good evening Broadway Board! (Actually, it's very VERY early morning here!) A question regarding the seating for Pippin? I am coming to New York in July, and am currently trying to book Pippin tickets for my visit. However, the Telecharge website rather annoyingly won't allow me to select my own seats and has allocated me in the second row - Row A, Center Orchester, 101/102 - will these seats be comfortable, provide a full view and be worth the high ticket price? I am nearly 6ft an

Cabaret Limited Run? Feb 9
2014, 06:41:26 PM
The 2006 and 2012 London revivals were essentially the same production, just reworked a little by the time it arrived back in town in 2012. I saw the 2006 revival in is final months in 2008. I enjoyed it - great performances. Lots of mixed messages and abstract technique derived from a slightly confused mash-up of a few too many ideas, but it was fine. Nudity was very prominent throughout. It was at it's most striking point during Tomorrow Belongs to Me (Act 1 Finale) as black screens

Turn a MOVIE into a MUSICAL and CAST it! Jun 20
2012, 05:35:53 AM
SEX AND THE CITY: Carrie Bradshaw: Kerry Butler Miranda Hobbes: Jill Paice Charlotte York: Laura Benanti Samantha Jones: Sherie Rene Scott Mr. Big: J. Robert Spencer I dunno if it would be the movie, or the TV show, or whatever, heck it probably wouldn't work either way, but just to see those girls together as those characters would be fiiiine!

GODSPELL to Close on Broadway June 24 Jun 13
2012, 05:26:46 AM
I'm in the UK, and have not seen this production, but from what I can see (and hear from the cast recording, which I think is superb) it seems like a brilliant production of Godspell. Is there something about it when you actually see it that makes it so bad? Because from what I can see, it looks great, and I can't seem to understand the strong dislike for it from what I've seen.

Your favorite stage illusions Apr 25
2011, 10:28:06 AM
"The one done 8 times a week at the Gershwin making people believe Wicked is the greatest show ever." Haha! Love it! Defying Gravity may be "artistic" and all, personally I fondly disagree, but it is honestly nothing if you compare it to the flight of the three girls at the end of act one in original London production of The Witches of Eastwick. Floating, spinning, and then flying out of the stage and exiting over the audience. Absolutely stunning. I didn't see the show, but have a teac

American Idiot Final Performance Apr 25
2011, 10:19:52 AM
I loved this show, was one of my favourites that I saw on Broadway. Such a shame that it closed but amazing to hear how brilliant the final night sounded. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5B-OBghFzDc A lot of loud cheering but also talk of a UK production from the Producer. I can sleep happily now :)

Broadway Shows that have completely changed since opening night Nov 29
2010, 02:44:57 PM
London, but here's a good example. I've sene Les Mis four times, and every single time there has been something different. When I saw it in London for the first time in 2008, the pre-Master of the House section was completely gone, as well as a lack of little Eponine. The second time I saw it, it was the tour in 2009, with a new verse added to Lovely Ladies, the pre-Master of the House back in, and Little Eponine being present. The third time, was the tour again, the new Lovely Ladi

ALNM cast having problems with Elaine Stritch? Nov 29
2010, 02:37:33 PM
"Let's wheel ya'll on a Broadway stage when you're in your 80's." Here, here! I'm off to NYC in January (first time!) And Night Music is my first show (of seven!) and I'm really looking forward to Elaine Stritch, I'm sure even if she does snub a bit, she'll be fine. Any actor can snub their lines. Happened when I saw Little Shop at Menier, Alistair McGowan as Orin skipped over a massive chunk with Paul Keating as Seymour, then I saw him again, and the chunk was back it. It can
