Back to the full time (2 hrs), I actually enjoyed the show and didn't miss anything. Plays always need a little build time. The audience of mostly locals gave a standing ovation- perhaps out of respect but I think there was a lot of true enjoyment. I thought the actors had decent charisma- not anything too over the top, but definite connections, respect and love/neediness. They were running their lines well after the show, they are putting the time in. Let's see what happens. I am glad I sa

I would go see Gypsy (I mean come on..Patti Lupone) or Wicked because Stephanie J. Block is awesome. I also love Xanadu and Cheyenne's voice is simply beautiful..as is he. ;-0

My new fave restaurant is Tony DiNapoli because their waiters are great, food is decent, they have sangria AND you can book on Open Table and make a reservation. Oh and they have fun caricatures on the walls.

So.. why is there no girls night? Isn't that discrimination? Do they actually not allow women in the theater? Is this acceptable? I demand a free cocktail? (BTW a real marketer would have called it a free COCKtail )

and from my one and only experience at Xanadu they should also have a "middle-aged moms" night. Holy, Jersey. The post-menopausal woman next to me could not get enough of Cheyenne. I thought I was watching the thunder from down under.

Should I write a letter?

wow. I love this country. it's awesome that you can still camp out for anything and get something in return. And life isn't fair- people will always have connections and more money and better looks and nicer clothes. Even bosses and teachers play favorites and totally get away with it. Some people have mommies and daddies who WOULD pay well over $2000 for their sweeties to have a good time. Just laugh about it- I mean they are so proud that they got to finagle rush seats to a broadway show-- so
re: Broadway Legends of this Generation???? (future broadway legends)

I really do not understand the Idina haters on this board. I mean really, she is KNOWN as Elphaba(and stephanie is great but come on-- she was not chosen to seal the deal on broadway during the time that counts, as lovely as she is.)

Idina originated Maureen in Rent and Ephaba (on broadway and in the west end)-- for MY generation at least she is probably going to be remembered as a broadway legend for these two roles. Sorry, kids.

And how do most people remember Angela Lansb

Have you ever forgotten to turn your cell phone off during a broadway show?

What happened?

So embarassing. Especially when you have a backstreet boys ringtone.

Have you ever gotten really sick at a Broadway show?
 Feb 24 2008, 09:39:32 PM
The other night I got violently ill at Jersey Boys (no jokes lol.) Unfortunately my dad (huge frankie valli fan) was sitting on the end of my aisle and was so engrossed that he wouldn't get up during a song. Finally I screamed at him "I'm going to be sick" --all of these people gasped-- and he got up and I ran to the ladies room just barely making it. All of the ushers were awesome letting me sit on the stairs and letting me bring ginger ale inside the theater. It was a horrible experience,

Thank you all for your advice and well wishes. I ended up seeing drum roll... Xanadu!! And in the second row!! I totally did this after reading Cheyenne's blog today and after an unexpected rough day yesterday--work issues on my vacation.grr. I needed a comedy and after reading his blog I really wanted to support this cast. What a treat! This was actually recommended to me by a friend whose birthday is the day before mine. We're both Leos and he totally knew I would love the camp and over-th

I think that Idina's PR person is failing her in general. She has Liz Rosenberg who is Madonna's and Josh Groban's publicist and from what I can see she does a great job of keeping her folks OUT of the press, but doesn't do much to keep them in. It would be an honor to have such a big named publicist, but she obviously doesn't feel a need to work very hard for her clients. I Stand is a great album and they have made several mistakes in the overall promotion. Brave was not the best choice for

Rent queston: London west end production
 Feb 18 2008, 10:49:33 AM
Ok-a question brought on by the new database. so when I was in high school I saw Rent when it first opened on broadway and I know I saw the original cast because my best friend was obsessed. I loved it, but was not obsessed at that point. A few years later I studied abroad in London in 1999 and saw the show in February 1999. So my question is.. did I see the four members of the original cast while I was in London or were they replaced at some point during the run in the west end?

Yes another "what should I see post." So I thought Spring Awakening would have a matinee due to it being "mud week" and all. But nope. So of the following shows that I haven't seen, what would you pick... I live in the city, but my husband is working and really want to treat myself. I love the actors in Mermaid, but kind of hate disney. Same with young frankensten.. would love to see the actors, hate mel brooks movies.

Xanadu
Little Mermaid
Cat

I saw it tonight as a valentine's day treat by getting a last minute pair on wednesday. It was awesome. And MLP was wearing a sparkly thing on her finger. I said to my husband-- I think she's engaged and I just got home and bam, google says:

I think they should remove the rent wall and auction it for charity.

Wow, I haven't watched the video yet but this has been my personal secret for a while. When I first moved to NYC I used to work in midtown. At one point I was 21 and didn't have a lot of money for anything and I had horrible roommates. I hated going home and used to think about sleeping under my desk. On the way home from work, I would always try to kill time and most days I would somehow manage to walk by the Nederlander. It would always make me smile, just knowing that the show was there. Pas
