I don't know exactly what it was... but it was supposed to come to Raleigh through Broadway Series South... but it was cancelled or something. I guess they weren't counting on a bunch of people going (shoot, I was going!)... but it had Dorothy Hamill (I think) and some other skaters. They were supposed to skate to various bway songs (some from Chicago) and do a scene or two... something like that... But I really wish I could have gone! It looked super!

I Won't Mind...
 Jan 17 2006, 05:33:09 PM
Okay, there is a song out there that I absolutely LOVE! It's called I Won't Mind and it's from an unfinished musical... Is it called Hello Again?? I don't know... (Aunty Lizzy's singing to a baby, very, very touching song) but I don't know anything about it... is there anyone out there who can tell me a bit about why this musical is unfinished... are there any plans to finish it... what's the deal? haha!

I love the rock opera (original album by The Who), I love movie, but I haven't seen the musical... yet... I'm sure I'll love it, though!

Not a fair question ;-D I love them both!

Right now, I'm listening to Aida... I'm not sure if it will be one of my favorites... I've never seen it before, but just by reading the synopsis, I can tell I'll like it. (I'm such a sucker for tragic romances!)

re: Cats: the Music Video??

Yeah, that was an awesome (although a little outdated hehe) video! Hey, while I'm here with a bunch of Terry fans, have ya'll heard of his musical Romeo and Juliet? I was wondering if there was a full soundtrack floating around somewhere... I have part of the sample CD (only Juliet's Prayer and Shall I Compare Thee on it), I kind of wish I had the whole soundtrack.

What kind of footage are you talking about? I saw it on PBS when they had their phone-a-thon thing... They have a bunch of really neat clips of some of the more modern shows, nothing much from the oldies. They don't really show any full scenes. Just clips. I loved it, and if I had $80 to spend on it (at Barnes and Noble... I'm sure I can find it for less) I'd get it in a heartbeat. I learned a lot about Bway, the shows, the writers, everything. I'd get it!

re: Favorite Love Song from a Broadway Show
 Jan 2 2006, 03:44:32 PM
That one song... oh gosh... I can't think of it now... I haven't heard it in forever... but it's from Secret Garden... with Archie and Lily... at the end... but that's my favorite duet... my favorite solos would be On My Own from Les Mis and (Even though, it's not romantic love, it's still love) I'll Give My Life For You from Miss Saigon.

It may just be a trend that anthony started... I'm not sure... I wasn't really familiar with Rent until the movie came out (I was too young to understand most of it)... but I'm thinking it was a trend...

I agree... the projection on tour was pretty cheesy... here I was all excited about the chopper landing on the stage and it was a daggoned projection... oh well, the choreography on the fences was AWESOME! I loved the slo-mo... gave me chills.

I said this before in another thread, but my high school put this on last year. It was fairly easy. A sophomore (who I swear is going to win a TONY someday) designed the set. It was gorgeous! Fashioned after Victorian greeting cards... anyway, yeah we really did have to have a bunch of strong singers... men and sopranos... a lot of sopranos! I love the Quartet (although, it's not my favorite of the show)!

Hope this helps, Footlooser!

re: CATS or Joseph?
 Dec 28 2005, 08:52:34 PM
Joseph.

The story is easier to follow. I just got Cats on DVD and I had to watch it twice before I could get what was going on... I guess it's because I wasn't familiar with the show (shame on me). BUT if you really like ballet/jazz/'lil bit of tap, you'll like Cats. If you're looking for some really fun songs, go with Joseph!
