Man of La Mancha Quote Question
 Dec 11 2006, 12:10:03 AM
Does anybody know how the quote from Man of La Mancha goes with the words "those who are the fools are the one who see the world as it is and not as it ought to be" something like that? And is that quote in the movie as well? Thank you!

Wayne Brady walked past me when I was ushering the Chicago tour the other day.

Emily actually sang the voice of Ursula on one of the Little Mermaid demos.

The clip was slightly awkward with all her pouts and such. Great personality, though I still think she looks sorta ingenue-ish, even with the red hair.

Yeah, when I saw the logo and then read what the show really was about, it was surprising, to say the least.

Did you sign up to get this in the mail, or did they just randomly send it to you?
I'm thinking about getting the cast recordings of Grey Gardens and [title of show]...
 Sep 11 2006, 10:04:56 PM
Do I need to know any background to these shows [because I know none] to like the CD? I'm thinking of buying these CDs because I wanted to get something new and I've heard pretty great things about these recordings. And they're slightly cheaper than ther other CDs on Amazon.com. I listening to some clips on iTunes, but it would be nice to get some comments.

Yes, I figured that'd be the common response.
The Pillowman Question
 Sep 8 2006, 10:00:32 PM
I'm in NFL [Speech and Debate] and was wondering if it would be appropriate to do a monologue from the Pillowman for a Dramatic Interpretation. I haven't read the script yet and am planning to buy it if I think I can do a speech from it. I know it's about strong material, but would it be appropriate for the judges to hear [i.e. the parents of other speech kids]? Please let me know so that I can order the script promptly if need be!

I have to agree. The dancing was absolutely breathtaking and just WOW. The show was just great. I loved it SO much.

I'm glad it's been doing pretty well. The day that I went [random Tuesday night] the theatre looked almost 100%. Fantastic.

I actually watched a community theatre production of City of Angels, and the voices on that CD just don't sound as fantastic as these group of teenagers who played it.
re: When are the Drowsy Chaperone vocal selections book and the libretto coming out?

It could also be in book form, like Urinetown and Assassins.
Best City [outisde of New York State] to live in, theatre-wise
 Aug 27 2006, 03:58:51 PM
I live in L.A., which I love, but I'm thinking San Francisco, especially with "A Chorus Line" previewing there, as well as other shows.

Chicago, which I love with all my heart, also seems to have some great theatre.

Opinions?

I really adore the Paris recording. Stephanie is phenomenal. My favorite.
re: Actors that phoned in their performance
 Aug 25 2006, 10:45:31 PM
Well, I thought Alexander Gemignani was supposed to look all phoned in because he intended for that character to be that way in order to elicit laughs.
