Mean Girls @ The National in DC - Reactions
 Nov 2 2017, 06:50:10 PM

I saw both of the first two performances (in town for work).  Opening night was quite fun with the Halloween crowd.   I haven't seen the film in 10+ years, but I've seen over 900 musicals in my life.  Just background on my perspective.

Book is hilarious.  Direction / choreography is smooth, slick, and fun.  Great transitions.  Set is effective mix of screens and set pieces slid on and off by cast (I didn't mind it a bit).

Paul Gordon's EMMA - new productions scheduled
 Mar 17 2008, 09:10:00 AM
The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park announced their 08-09 season yesterday, and the first show in the bigger theater that season will the musical adaptation of EMMA, but Paul Gordon (Jane Eyre). I know there are some serious fans of Paul Gorden out there, so I thought I'd share this news. It plays Sept. 2 - Oct 3, 2008. I believe that this is a co-production with the St. Louis Rep, so St. Louis audiences are likely to see this show as well this season. See the link for more info.

re: TO THE RESCUE - a new Christian musical
 Jan 21 2008, 02:36:35 PM
Thanks for your feedback. At the time that we were finalizing the script (as if a new show script is ever final), we did lots of research on what a "standard format" was for a musical and found numerous sources, none of which seemed consistent at all. Some had the character names to the left, and some had them centered. Same thing with CAPS or no CAPS on song lyrics. So, I chose a format found in a published script for a Tony-Award winning musical and went with it.

TO THE RESCUE - a new Christian musical
 Jan 21 2008, 01:03:28 PM
Hi! I hope that everyone will allow for some shameless self-promotion. I wanted to share some (hopefully exciting) news with you all. My brother David and I have recently finished writing a new musical entitled TO THE RESCUE. The piano and vocal arrangements are being completed currently, and the work will be ready for licensing and staging in April. The website for the show is now active and be viewed at:

http://www.christianmusical.net/

THE THE RESCUE is a Christian musical primarily intended to be performed by churches for their congregations. However, we also wrote it as a theatrical piece appropriate for a theater production as well.

At least for now, we've made the controversial decision to include on the website the option of viewing the entire script. We also offer samples of the music from the rough composer demo so you can get an idea of the type of music contained in the show.

The show will have its world premiere sometime and somewhere in 2008. I welcome any feedback on either the show or the script.

The score is wonderful, my favorite Schmidt and Jones by far. They were perfectly suited to musicalize the story, and it is a crying shame that they can't get the rights back.

yes, but if so, when are they going to start selling tickets past March? I am trying to plan my April trip, and buy my tickets, but if they don't offer them soon, I may just end up seeing something else.

The show's website said that they went on sale today, but when I tried, Telecharge said they weren't on sale yet. From the above post, it looks like they go on sale tomorrow.

Does anyone know if they are going to extend past 3/31? I am coming to NYC in April and would like to see this, but they are only selling tickets through the end of March.
