I think that anyone can be taught to hit pitches. I'm not sure that everyone can necessarily be a great singer.

I really don't like the movie. LOVE the show. But the moive was just... The chariot chase might have been it. That and the fact that they cut half the songs.

I agree with Once on this Island. Great show. Some of my favorites when I was little: Annie get your Gun, Camelot, Sound of Music, Oklahoma, and Fiddler on the Roof.

re: Sweeney Todd -- Approrpriate for 14 year old? Feb 25

Bless you, Auggie! I think you would get along well with my parents. They used to(and still do) take me with them to just about every theatre event that goes on around here. It's thanks to them that I'm interested in theatre at all. And I agree. Give kids some credit. Most 14 yr. olds watch horror movies. Those are waaaay scarier than Sweeney.

I saw this show when I was 11 or 12 and loved it and understood everything I think. I'd say, go for it.

Love Letters Feb 9
2006, 08:55:33 PM
I just discovered this play a few days ago and LOVE it. It's a very quick read. The script I have says that Elaine Stritch played in it. That's all I know. When was she in it? When and where did it run? Any information is very appreciated. :)

It's from Anyone Can Whistle. I love this song too. I have Jerry Hadley and Carolann Page singing it on my recording of the Sondheim Celebration at Carnegie Hall. Beautiful.

Company, Follies, Sunday in the Park with George. Well, I know Sunday. And I have a recording of the Sondheim Concert at Carnegie Hall which has a lot of songs from Company and Follies. But otherwise...zip.

Timote, I love it. 'Cept when you belted "know" at the end. Could have been stronger. I don't know if I can really vote this round. It's gonna be too hard to choose.
