THE ROOMMATE Reviews
 Sep 21 2024, 01:03:28 AM

Some of the most fun I've ever had in a theater. The play makes no sense. Mia is sensational. The play makes no sense. Patti is Patti. I've never laughed so much (even at the serious parts). How does Mia turn in such a wonderful performance among all this? What a great night out.

Hi all!

A question that maybe somebody here knows more about than I --- I'm going into the city for a birthday trip on Friday. We had gotten tickets to THE ROOMMATE, mostly to see Mia. Do you all think there's any chance she'll be back by then? Do you know when it will become clear?

If not, is it possible to call and get a refund or an exchange? I feel bad, especially with the wonderful Marsha Mason, but Mia was really the reason for the trip. <

Ahrens-Flaherty KNOXVILLE musical world premiere set for Asolo Rep

I wasn't hugely impressed with the album on first listen --- liked it, didn't love it --- but over the past year-and-change I've listened again and again and developed an immense fondness for it. I think it's just a gem of a score.

New Spotify playlist: Sondheim's
 Aug 29 2024, 10:19:14 PM

This is a great list, and thanks for making the playlist, Peter2! The concept was thought up by the great Mark Eden Horowitz of the Library of Congress, as you've said above, who wanted to do a concert at the Library of songs Sondheim had written for his 70th birthday.

According to Horowitz, Sondheim was perfectly fine with the idea of (another) concert celebrating his work (what a snooze, more people singing your praises and your music!), but when Horowitz

I saw this at Williamstown. I thought it was a hoot. I thought that it needed a little bit of oomph which I think Patti and Mia can deliver in spades. Looking forward to this.

Does anybody else find the current City Center marketing odd in the lack of Sutton? On their Instagram there's been a video of Jackson and Daniels at the piano, a video of Ghee at the piano, a video of Ghee and Daniels with the orchestra, a rehearsal slideshow with pictures of Harris, Urie, Ghee, Jackson, Daniels, and Jue, and then a video of the ensemble in the sitzprobe where Sutton is sitting down, masked (I know she doesn't sing in that number, though)... is she sick or somet
