re: Anne Rice's Review of 'Lestat'

So help me God, I loved it. I've seen it twice now. Roderick Hill... Hugh Panaro... all Gods in their own right. Granted, the plot had some HUGE holes... well, here's how I phrase it. It's a mediocre show done well.

Maybe I'm just on a Broadway high right now since I just got back from seeing it again. Who knows?

cherry jones to star in 'doubt' tour
 Feb 23 2006, 01:54:29 PM
Oh my good God, Cherry Jones is my personal goddess. She was amazing in Doubt, and I'm thrilled that she's gonna be on the tour. She gave me and my friends some EXCELLENT acting tips after the show. She's so humble! And she has no reason to be...she could have been Diva of the Decade and I would have forgiven her, but no. She has to be perfect.
abe vigoda as tarzan?!?!?

Adam as Tarzan would be too good to be true. It'd make me actually WANT to see the show.

they can't kill off George. we didn't actually see him die. besides, with all the hell he put Bree through, I seriously doubt they'd kill him off in such a simple way.

I could be wrong. it would be ironic if he brought on his own demise with pills.

ohhhhhhhh...*shudders* I love him. I. love. him. soooooooo talented.

and yeah - when I found out about his singing "I Can Go the Distance" a few years ago, I listened to it for hours on end. sometimes, I still fall asleep to

some things from Songs for a New World would work, like "Christmas Lullaby." it's actually not just about Christmas. it will work year-round.

I had to share this minor freak-out moment I had this morning.

I was sitting in my Opera Workshop class and we were discussing when we were going to go see my professor's (Bill Bowers - the original Zazu in "The Lion King") shows. ("Under a Montana Moon" and "It Goes Without Saying") I said, "I'd prefer to go on a Saturday rather than Sunday because on Sunday, you get the geriatric club." a friend of mine replied, "I'd like to go Saturday, too, because Desperate Housewives comes on Sund

I think what some people may have been bitter about is the same thing that happened with me...but I thought it was the nicest thing in the world.

there were a lot of children who attended the show that I attended and at the stage door, she ignored all of the adults and instead spent time with the children...a lot of time...about 5 minutes each...and signed their autographs, held them, talked to them...it was so beautiful.

the guy who is doing it now...I don't remember his name, sorry...has an amazing voice, but when the Phantom screams and/or cries, he sounds like a girl. it's sad.

my amazing experience with Schwartz and Stillwell
 Oct 14 2005, 04:53:52 PM
as many of you know, I go to NYU. on Wednesday, I was reminded exactly why. Stephan Schwartz came to talk to my vocal performance program. it was amazing. even if you don't like him or his shows, I want everyone to know that he is the most down-to-earth and amazing man. he was so very humble. he literally stood in front of us and said, "we changed the ending to Pippin because we realized that our ending was terrible. it sucked. it was total $H!T. we debated forever over whether the line would be
