SPIDER-MAN to Shut Down for 2-3 Weeks; 3 Month Delay in Opening? Mar 9
2011, 08:25:08 AM
I hope they make appropriate changes! I saw it a couple of nights ago and they've made really great leaps in progress and I really enjoyed it. I'm glad they're taking the time to consider more changes, particularly for the second Act.

People of Color In Traditionally White Roles Aug 22
2010, 12:12:16 AM
^^^ Because that's what this thread is really about. I usually don't think there's an issue with casting people of color in white roles because for characters that are written as white or traditionally played as white, their perceived whiteness has usually nothing to do with their character, so it's usually not a big deal.

It's southern gothic and it's a dream play. That's what I learned when I read it in my Theatre class.

Hey, don't knock the Pokemon musical!!! I saw it when I was little, and I really enjoyed it! I still remember a lot of it. It had giant, cool-looking Pokemon puppets like Venasaur and Electrode, and the MechaMew2 puppet was HUGE and awesome. I really liked the songs in the show, and I actually liked the story! If I saw it today, I would probably laugh and scoff at it, but when I saw it at seven or eight years old, it definitely did its job and was a lot of fun.

"No One is Alone" from Into the Woods. That song is pretty much what I'm all about.

Already? Awfully quickly in my opinion. I would've thought the producers would officially start work on the film when the grossing for the show goes way down.

Ha ha, as always, very funny. Was that "The Watchmen" Lin-Manuel gave to Jeff? Awesome! Although the obvious choice would be Cheyenne, they might throw us a curb ball like in that "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" episode on that The Simpsons.

The only thing that looks different in this production in relation to any other is the fact that there are Asian people, it's nothing special Wicked-wise.

I love the bass chords in the off-Broadway revival recording of Godspell. The last unison "I love you" the parents sing in "The I Love You Song" from Spelling Bee. I can't really describe it, but in "The Night That Goldman Spoke at Union Square" there's a small instrumental that's played as Emma Goldman was speaking and every pause after Mother's Younger Brother sings. I just ADORE the sound of it, it just reminds me of the Industrial Revolution because to me it almost sounds l
