Honestly, going into the Phantom of the Opera (movie) unbiased without having seen the play or for that matter knowing anything about it until maybe two weeks ago was a great experiecence, I left the theater with a smile on my face! And because of the film I am incredibly interested in seeing Phantom at broadway, #1 because it's my dream to play the phantom and #2 because I want to see how the special effects are...oh and the story.

Honestly you cannot compare the two, I have listened t

What inspires people to follow careers on broadway?

What challanges does one face when auditioning?

How long does one have to memorize lines?

yay for questions

And when do actors and actresses practice to maintain their lines and work with each other?

What was the audition process like, and for that matter the memorizing of lines and things like that :)

thanks, those high notes feel real natural though. If you mean the b flat that's essentially the end of my register

My goal is to be the Phantom.

I'd love to be Tony in some revival of West Side Story

and if I ever got the opportunity I'd love to be the Beast or Tevye

being that here are no males I often get the leads, I have for about 3 years in HS. I'm in hs though so i'm waiting for things to change real fast, competition is so awesome...like that feeling you get inside..When I tried out for Tevye 4 really good guys tried out too, I prepared myself over a year. One guy quit (cause hes an asshole anyway stupid arrogant peice of crap) and the other one who was one point from me got Lazar-wolf, one of the reasons why i got it was because I was more experience

wow...make sure they do so, and if your really serius I would recommend going every two weeks or even every week. It helps to keep you motivated too.

Also here is a sampler of my voice if anyone is interested :)

wouldn't it be better to establish a classical voice style and then transfer over?

Yeah, she's a real good teacher. Just kind of nutty, and...well insane. Lol.

Also teth, you'll feel it less in your chest and more in your head..hence head voice! Lol.

she's off her rocker anyway. Lol, I don't know...We got so caught up in college crap that I barely have fun with any of the stuff I sing, its all ultra classical.

castration use to work!

my singing teacher is an alumni fro carnegie-Mellon so she has me doing more arias than broadway stuff, and some show peices when i am doing a show in school. She's actually been working on me trying to become a counter-tenor and she wont push low notes because she is a fraid I will lose my tenor range.

Also that G that she has you sing do you use some head voice too?

Teth, sometimes pushing your body into a note can send it louder and bi

Like Gerald Butler in Phantom, sorry for the mistake about pippin. Also a b flat above MIDDLE C? That's the end of the tenor range usually.

high baritone ljay :)

Good tenors can hit a c below middle c and the c above middle c, a good baritone/high baritone can sing up to a G above middle c and i think a G below middle C. I've sung soprano parts and I'm a tenor! Score..tghat's the falsetto. A tenor 2 is higher isn't it? So that technically is called a counter-tenor which can go up to about an F that's alto land right there..and damn high.
