I'd also like to add that "Stop the World" is also by Leslie Bricusse...surprise

I've been L-U-M-B-E-R-E-D lumbered,
And I don't L-I-K-E it one small bit.
I'm too young to be a father;
There are lots of things I'd rather be--
Like working down a coal P-I-T pit!
-Stop the World, I Want to Get Off

Wow! A grown man can spell 3 and 4 letter words! I'm so impressed!
After that song, I was forced to shut off the CD for sheer annoyance.

Tony Performances 2007
 Jun 7 2007, 05:07:26 PM
Although I'm definitely looking forward to the Spring Awakening performance ( :) ) I'm not sure if I want them to do a medley or not...after seeing that awful Sweeney Todd medley last year I'm a little skeptical about the medley's now. Which reminds me, I hope Company doesn't do a medley. You never know, since both Sweeney and Company were John Doyle productions. I can very easily see them doing one though.

Company Performance Times?
 May 11 2007, 10:11:13 PM
Does anyone know the matinee performance time for Company on Sundays? Some places are saying 3 and some places are saying 2 and we're thoroughly confused...we're hopefully going to see the May 27th show....
re: Raul Esparza in Company

Yea, I was listening to a clip of Raul's "Being Alive" and was surprised to find it a little less subdued than I expected. I mean, I love it when he sings ballads smoothly (i.e. "Why", "See Her Smile" and the first few verses of "Petrified"). I was a little surprised, but I knew that somehow it probably works, because otherwise they wouldn't have done it. They probably felt the need to change the song and make it unique since it tends to be overdone. Hopefully seeing the show will explain it.

I'm thinking about going to see it memorial weekend and was wondering if Raul is usually there for the matinees?
Sondheim Accompaniment?
 May 1 2007, 12:07:10 PM
Does anyone have any recordings of accompaniment/karaoke background tracks for Into the Woods? Preferably "Moments in the Woods" or "Children Will Listen"? I need it for a project, and I don't want to have to spend 30 dollars on a karaoke CD for the sake of one song...ur help would be very much appreciated :)

For all you Billy Elliot fans out there (who are anxiously awaiting it's Broadway arrival, of course), there is a new forum for Billy Elliot fans that you might be interested in...
Hope to see you there!

re: flops shows that need to be on cd

I know it's pointless to say it at this point, but...
I agree with Lestat for sure
And I would LOVE a recording of the Threepenny and La Cage revivals

Sly Fox by Larry Gelbart (question)

If anyone is familiar with the show, what would you say is the youngest age of a person who should be allowed to see it? Or what kind of a rating would you give it (G, PG, pg-13, R, etc.)? I know nothing about it, so I don't know it's plot or anything. For all I know it could be a show for kids! Please help out.
re: Evita back on broadway
 Feb 17 2006, 11:28:30 PM
Honestly, I was hoping it wouldn't revive so I could direct a production of it on broadway in 20 years or so :)
But if there must be a revival now, I'm definitely looking forward to it. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what the set's going to look like.
I just hope it's better than what I would want to do with the show if I were a director, so that I can say "THIS SHOW KICKS ASS!"

Trail Mix with Linda Eder
 Jan 28 2006, 12:19:40 AM
Saw a preview for Linda Eder's Animal Planet show "Trail Mix" today. I love Linda, but I'm not sure about my feelings about the show. I was very excited to see a preview for it, though.
Lestat Rehearsals

Maybe I'm just in love with "Electricity" cuz I'm a dancer, Roninjoey. I guess that would make sense.

Sorry if this confuses you guys, but I'm going back a page :)
Roninjoey, it's musicaldude, not Broadwaydude. Sorry, little pet peeves of mine.
Sir Elton's music the weakest part (same goes for The Lion King. I like the songs he DIDN'T write
How can you not like "Circle of Life" and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight"? Even if you might not like them, they're some of the best songs in the show. I agree that "Endless Night" is great, but you just can't compete with Elton's songs.

Hey, Lizzie, have you heard Billy Elliot?
And, btw, Lion King has been running for, what is it, 9 years?
And Aida ran for...4 years, was it?
And Billy Elliot is becoming a huge success, right?
Hmm...I think those are all right.
(end of sarcasm)
Whether or not you like him really doesn't determine whether or not he writes crap.
Btw, Show People magazine just did an article on Sir Elton, so if any of you are interested, pick up a copy! It was an excellent
