I am looking for inspirational and/or wise quotes from Broadway musicals about life (Not heavily involving romance, please) it can be a spoken line or sung. It needs to be able to be taken out of context and still make sense though, and it can be comical or serious. It would have to be friendly to all ages with subject matter, too. I have all my posters and pictures related to musicals and theatre arranged in shapes on my wall, like music notes or comedy/ tragedy masks ( it does look like it, I swear! ) . I suppose you could do the same for playbills.

Sorry if there is already a thread about this.. I couldn't find any. What are some songs involving determination or being dead set on achieving a certain goal? It can be totally out of context, It doesn't matter to me.

The first time I saw Michael Ball on youtube, I recognized him from something.. I googled him, and I didn't find anything that helped. I feel like he must have been on some kid's show or something because I feel I've seen him in something non-theater related, but not a movie because I don't really watch any of the T.V. shows he has been in.. can anyone help? Know of any Michael Ball look-a-likes?

The company I am working with this summer was planning to do Fiddler on the Roof for their big production, but, at a meeting we were called to last night they announced that if they cannot get three more males to join in the next two days then the musical will have to be switched to Seussical... I've been working towards this audition for months, hoping for the role of Hodel. I had Somewhere from WEST SIDE STORY memorized and prepared, along with Far From The Home I Love audition-ready. Now,

How do you think this should be interpreted?

There was a debate in my musical theatre workshop today on how Far from the Home I Love - FIDDLER ON THE ROOF should be interpreted. One person argued that the song should be sung as Hodel was frustrated, especially in the beginning line : "How can I hope to make you understand why I do what I do?"
The other section of the class argued that it should be sung as trying to be sympathetic and trying to ease the news to her father.
What do you think? A mixture of both? If so, ple

My high school is doing a benefit concert for Haiti and I have been asked to sing a song. Being a musical fanatic, I would like to sing a musical theatre song. Any suggestions? I have a mezzo-soprano to a soprano range. Any ideas? Something somber I would think...
