Well I guess then your book isn't the only book in the library?

New director alert! The very good choreographer Lorin Latarro has replaced Casey Hushion as director. Weirdly, Lorin won't be choreographing:that will be done by Josh Bergasse, who did the previous production at George Street Playhouse.

Not really "weird" at all.  I can't imagine that Josh didn't already have a Broadway deal, so they would have had to pay a large buyout if they replaced him for Broadway.  Lotarro is probably looking to get more "cred" as a director -- so it's a win-win (for everybody but Hushion). But considering it's a Kenny D project, she may well end up having dodged a major bullet!

This play is specifically supposed to have three acts - Daily Life, Love and Marriage, and Death. It works very well in the three act format in which it was written. Leave it to modern producers and directors to think they know better than the author and smoosh everything together into an overlong, intermissionless expe

There are still plenty of "under the radar" table readings that happen in the director's living room, or in the producer's conference room.

True -- but the next row back is $420, and the row behind that is $320.

And if you want to be closer, they have row B (on the sides) at $620 and row C at $320.

It all depends on how you to choose to cherry pick in order to suit the pre-determined premise...

"One could easily argue that O’Brien is simply dealing with the inevitable: People are going to clap for Mia and Patti, so let’s just get it over with. But it does matter. Because “let’s just get it over with” is no kind of first event. Nor is “clap for the celebrities.” If this drop of water reflects the whole ocean, what it’s showing us is that we’re being set up for a superficial encounter: Appreciate the presence of these two famous actors, laugh when they say something funny, and watch them get whisked away in their Uber Blacks afterwards. (Seriously, I’ve never seen actors flee a theater so fast; my show companion and I had been standing outside the Booth for what felt like 30 seconds getting ourselves in order before the applause went up and the SUVs pulled past, one with a Patti-focused vanity license plate … so I guess not an Uber after all.)"
"

WTF is she talking about (besides apparently now reviewing the actors’ car service)?  Is she saying she was out in the street “getting herself in order” before the end of the show and she heard the applause start, and that while the audience was still clapping the stars sped away in their vehicles??

What a weird, weird paragraph from one of those critics who always need to try and show us all that they’re the smartest person in the room.
